Happy Holidays LaundroMuttans,
• A December Thaw
No, I am not referring to the fact that people are
foregoing their parkas and wool mittens for short-sleeves and flip flops...
or that all the dogs are indulging themselves to “spa treatments”
by diving into the ever-present mud puddles. The header actually refers
to the prolonged absence of our newsletter due to my first bout with writer’s
block: a nasty little syndrome that solidified my creative juices into
an impenetrable mass and refused to reveal any timetable of its withdrawal.
But finally the ice dam “melt-eth” and, therefore, we can
communicate one last time in 2006. It has been quite a year.
• Sugar Plum Fairies and Liver Gingerbread Men
Creativity- it reveals itself in many different forms.
Elizabeth can wrap and decorate gifts in such marvelous ways that Martha
Stewart would shroud her head in shame. When a friend asked if we had
doggie gift baskets, the light bulb switched to the on position. Although
Santa did have to pull back the reins at Elizabeth's suggestion of fantastically
textured wrapping paper, richly colored ribbons with bright bows and fresh
greens with berries to adorn the barker’s bounty. Notwithstanding,
LaundroMutt now has a little elfin workshop that is producing boxes, tins
and stockings stuffed with toys and treats for all our good dogs that
deserve our praise. So if you are on the prowl for something to reward
your pooch, stop in and grab a tin, box and/or stocking and avoid having
to one more thing to wrap next Sunday night.
We reserved the lumps of coal for those bad ole’
squirrels who are constantly taunting our pooches with their twitchy noses
and long, fluffy tails.
• LaundroMutt’s Holiday Schedule
We will be closed Sunday, December
24th through Tuesday, December 26th to celebrate Christmas. Other than
that we will be open regular business hours until… who knows…
Easter?! We wish everyone a great holiday month: from those of you already
celebrating Hanukkah to Kwanzaa on the 26th. And let us not forget that
the days begin to grow longer next week!
• LaundroMutt: The year in review
It has been quite a year. As the year
comes to a close, I cannot help but reflect upon the past twelve months.
Our LaundroMutt staff has grown with the addition of Liz. Alana, Cheryl
and Jamie continue their Herculean endeavors to keep LaundroMutt at its
best. However, a certain someone, and I am not going to name names (Jamie),
keeps leaving the country in his persistant quest for wisdom and enlightenment.
If we keep the holiday cookies flowing, he may never leave again. We have
also said hello and goodbye to two wonderful people who worked with us
briefly: Makeba and Magda. Let us not forget Yee, Tung, Cattie and Sara
for lending a hand at various times of the year.
LaundroMutt has more than just great clients, we have
great friends. It has been such a great pleasure to meet many new faces,
both on four and two legs. We also have enjoyed our continued discourse
with LaundroMutt habitués. As always we would like to commemorate
those great dogs in which we have had to say goodbye- they gave so much
and demanded so little.
There is much more that could and probable should be said, but I will
keep it short and sweet. Thank you.

People left to Right: Jamie, Liz, Bitsy, Evan,
Alana and Cheryl.
Dogs left to Right: Dante, Wiley, Maya, Brumby, Skunky, Lucy and
Jessie.
• Vaya con dios... otra vez
Remember that certain someone who keeps leaving
the country? He's leaving again in the new year. This time Jamie is off
to España. He will be attending school and immersing himself in
the Spanish language and culture for several months. It will be hard to
replace Jamie... again. Maybe our next shop with be El LaundroPerro!

who have been referred by a friend. Thank you for spreading the word.
Our clients are our best advertisement. After all, you helped make us
who we are today. If you know of other dogs and their owners, please forward
this email on to them. And, if you have any questions, comments or concerns,
