Lave Canem

Hello LaundroMuttans,

Salutations

I started this newsletter many moons ago, fully intending to post it in the beginning of October. CRASH!! There goes the operating system on my computer. And for Pete's sake, it's a Mac! Only after grinding half way through my molars, all is well and I have been allowed to pass "Go". Anywho, on to the original newsletter-

We are one-year old! It is hard to believe that the Earth has made an entire revolution around the sun since the first dog wash. Oh the memories: faulty hot water heaters, flooded basements and other “technical” difficulties. On the flip side, we have met multitudes of incredible dogs and their people. With over five thousand dogs washed, we are looking forward to the coming year and all it will hold. We would also like send our thoughts out the dogs who are no longer with us and to all the new additions. Cheers.

• A New LaundroMutt Service: “A Dog Day Spa”

We are very excited about our new service. Starting on Wednesday, October 19th, LaundroMutt will be offering our four-legged clients “A Dog Day Spa”. This is an all-day affair that includes a luxurious spa bath, a long walk and hours of playtime with friends in our BarkaLounge. There is even an optional pick-up and drop-off Spa van! If your dog needs more than just a bath, we can schedule a full-service grooming appointment with Alana, our groomer. Other options can include “pawdicures” and even dog massages by Cattie Coyle. “A Dog Day Spa” will only be offered on Wednesdays and Thursdays at this time. As we require a small ratio between dogs and spa staff, only a small number of openings are available each day. When your dog returns home after a “A Dog Day Spa”, he/she will be clean, happy and dog-tired. We will even email you some photographs of various activities throughout the day.
Now some nuts and bolts about “A Dog Day Spa”. All dogs must be spayed or neutered and must not be socially aggressive. They must be up-to-date on all vaccinations, including rabies, bordetella (kennel cough), etc. Lastly, all Spa candidates must go through an informal interview with our Spa Staff (both human and dogs) to ensure a cohesive and convivial environment. Look for a webpage on our site in the next week with more details and pricing. Until then give us a call about prices and reservations.

• Halloween Bone Yard Bash

Come trick or treat and howl for Halloween at LaundroMutt. On Sunday, October 30th, from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. we will be celebrating All Hallow's Eve. Dogs dressed in costume can participate in fun games and activities to win cool prizes! Of course, we will also be keeping an eye out for The Great Pumpkin to rise from the pumpkin patch.

• Somerville Dog Park Meeting: Recap

We hope many friends of Somerville dogs attended the community meeting earlier in October. At the meeting the proposed plans for an off-leash recreation area at Nunziato Field were presented to the community. Somerville needs support for the plans in order for the proposal to continue forward and become a reality. Keep checking our website or go to SomDog to stay up-to-date on the progress.

• Planning Ahead: Pet Portraits for the Holiday Season

Mark your calendars and sign up for your Pet Portrait session with La Muse Photography. Dana Berenson will be photographing in-studio sessions at LaundroMutt on Saturday, November 12th and Saturday, December 3rd. Dana is offering a limited special rate discount for LaundroMutt customers, so be sure to sign up early! Call us to book your session today.
Cost: $65 per session which includes two 4X6 prints and two 5X7 prints.

• Pick of the Month

We like our logo. We like our T-shirts. And we love it when our clients send us pictures of themselves wearing our T-shirts. October’s pick of the month is the LaundroMutt T-shirt. Not only do we carry our “classic” design in four different colors and two different styles, but we also have our 2005 “artist” limited edition. The “artist” edition has a stylist retro design; we only had 70 printed. When they are gone… they are gone for good. By the way, if you travel to some fun locale, take a picture wearing your LaundroMutt apparel. Send us the photo and we will add it to our travel section. We want to see where and how far the LaundroMutt name can travel.

Everyday we have new clients come in to LaundroMutt who have been referred by a friend. Thank you for spreading the word. Our clients are our best advertisement. After all, you helped make us Best of Boston 2005. If you know of other dogs and their owners, please forward this email on to them. And, if you have any questions, comments or concerns, please give us a call us or send us an email.

Best Wishes,
